University of Alabama announces Montana Fouts Earns Her Second Wilson/NFCA D1 Pitcher of the Week Award of the Season
Fouts is the first Alabama player to win the award twice in the same season
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – For the second time this season, Alabama's Montana Fouts is the Wilson/NFCA D1 Pitcher of the Week, announced Tuesday.The weekly
recognition by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association is the second this season for Fouts, making her the only Crimson Tide player to win the award twice
in the same season. It is the 10th NFCA weekly award in program history, as Fouts joins Alexis Osorio (2015-18) as the only other Alabama player with multiple
career honors.The fifth-year senior from Grayson, Ky., threw a pair of complete game shutouts last weekend for Alabama, securing the series victory against
Missouri. Across 16.0 innings pitched, she allowed just seven hits and three walks while striking out 26 batters. With double-digit strikeouts in each game, she
now has eight games this season with 10+ Ks. Saturday's win was her third game this season with over 7.0 innings pitched and she also moved into fourth
