Middlebury College announces Women’s Track and Field Earns Nine All-Region Honorees

The Middlebury women's track and field team placed nine athletes on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region squad for their performances this winter. To earn the honor, an athlete must finish in the top-five spots in their event, while relay teams must finish in the top-three at the conclusion of the indoor season.
RELAY ALL-REGION HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- In the distance medley relay (DMR), Audrey Grimes, Michelle Louie, Ciara Dale and Kate Kenny claimed the top spot in the region with a time of 12:00.01 at the New England Championships. The team went on to shave nearly 10 seconds off this time the following week to secure a spot in the upcoming NCAA Championship.
INDIVIDUAL ALL-REGION HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Barns
- Cady Barns was named to the all-region team in both the triple jump and the long jump for her efforts at the New England Championships.
- The Panther ranked second in the triple jump with a school-record leap of 11.73m. She followed that up with another school-record in the long jump (5.60m). Both marks ranked in the top-25 in the country this season.
- Kenny
- Kenny ranks fifth in the mile after running a time of 4:57.59 at the David Hemery Valentine Invite to secure All-MidEast status in two events.
- Pollitt
- Lucy Pollitt placed just two spots behind Barns in the triple jump at the New England Championships, earning fifth place in the region with a jump of 11.35m.
- Rubio
- Emily Rubio was the Division III New England Champion in the pentathlon with a school-record score of 3,450 points, over 200 points better than the runner-up.
- The Panther is also second in the region in the high jump, recording a height of 1.65m at the Middlebury Winter Classic. Rubio is fourth in the MidEast in the 60m hurdles, running a time of 9.10 at the New England Small College Invitational to earn praise in three events.
- Tulimieri
- In the shot put, Julia Tulimieri won the Middlebury Snowflake Invitational with a toss of 12.37m, which is good for second in the region.
- Wang
- Zoe Wang was named to the all-region team for her efforts in the pole vault. The sophomore posted a 3.48m mark at the New England Championships to claim the fourth-best height in the region.
Rubio and the DMR will wrap up the indoor season at the NCAA Championship later this week.
