Middle Tennessee State University announces MTSU wins six events at Music City Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee men's and women's track and field teams completed the competition in Nashville with six event wins on the weekend.
Men's Top Performances
· Alaba Akintola placed first in the men's 100m and 200m final. He ran a time of 10.08s in the 100m and 20.93s in the 200m.
· Stephen Eloji placed first in the men's 110m Hurdles and 400H Hurdles with a time of 13.73s in the 100m final and 52.30s in the 400H final.
· Carmelo Cannizzaro took first in the 3000m Steeplechase with a personal best time of 8:54.31s.
· Vincent Yegon finished first in the men's 5000m with a time of 14:18.02s.
Women's Top Performances
· Esther Isa placed second in the women's long jump final on Friday with a mark of 5.80m.
· Leonie Beu finished third in the women's 200m and 400m with personal best times of 24.35s in the 200m and 54.36s in the 400m.
· Mercy Chepkurui set a personal best time of 4:32.00s in the women's 1500m.
· In the women's 5000m Faith Nyathi placed second with a personal best time of 16:34.02s.
· Pamela Milano set a new personal best in the women's 800m with a 2:09.92s.
