Middle Tennessee State University announces Akintola earns second Outdoor Season Athlete of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Conference USA announced on Tuesday the Track and Field Athletes of the Week, including Middle Tennessee's Alaba Akintola as Male Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this outdoor season.
 
Akintola ran in both the 100-meter and 200-meter events at the Music City Challenge last weekend. He took first place in both events running a 10.08s 100-meter time and 20.93s 200m time.
 
The senior from Ondo, Nigeria's time in the 100-meter ranks 11th nationally for the outdoor season and first in C-USA. Akintola also holds the top time in C-USA 200-meter at 20.43s that he ran two weeks back at the Crimson Tide Invitational.
 
What's next for the Blue Raiders?

The men's and women's track and field teams will take the week off in preparation for the Conference USA Championships in Denton, Texas on May 11-14.
