Miami University announces RedHawks Dominate the Field at University of Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio- The Miami University RedHawks dominated both the track and the field on Friday and Saturday at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, and they put themselves in a great spot before the Tennessee Relays next week.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • On the field, in the men's hammer event, Ryan Smith finished in second place with 58.04m. The RedHawks had three different throwers finish in the top four in the men's javelin throw: Ryan Smith (54.10m) took second, Adam Smith (47.12m) finished in third, and CJ Johnson Jr. (44.33m) came in fourth. Ryan Smith finished in third place in the discus event with 51.09m. Four RedHawks placed in the top 10 in the shot put event, as Ryan Smith (16.50m) finished in third, Ben Riegel (15.26) finished in sixth, Blake Presley (15.06m) finished in seventh, and Reilly Worthington (14.90m) finished in eighth place. Adam Smith set two PRs in Cincinnati, putting up his best-ever marks in both the javelin and discus.
  • In the men's 100m dash, Julian Wagner (10.73) and Leo Bouldin (10.81) finished in sixth and eighth place, respectively. In the men's 110m hurdles, Eman Alfred finished in first place with a time of 15.04. Josh Mikulka came in fourth with a time of 15.61. Bouldin finished in third place in the men's 200m dash with a time of 22.29.
  • On the field, the RedHawks had two different throwers place in the top three. Allie Melchiorre (35.40m) finished in second place and Santornya Ralliford (33.76m) finished in third place. Ralliford threw in the discus event and finished in seventh place with 42.60m. In the women's high jump event, Abbi Deisch finished in seventh place with 1.56m.
  • In the women's 400m, Abby Suszek finished in first place with a time of 56.16, coming within a second of her personal-best time in the event. In the women's 100m hurdles, Sydney Harmon finished in fourth place with a time of 15.12. Harmon also competed in the women's 400m hurdles, and she finished in third place with a time of 1:07.24.
  • In the women's 1500m, Annie Christie came in second place with a time of 4:40.30. Nora Zubillaga finished in 11th place with a time of 4:47.47 as well.

The RedHawks compete in the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville April 7-8.
