Syracuse, N.Y. – Junior left-handed pitcher Max Parker (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) has been named the Le Moyne College Athlete of the Week, Presented by King + King Architects, following an outstanding performance on the mound during game two of the Dolphins' four-game non-conference series against #12 Franklin Pierce University on Sunday and Monday.

Le Moyne completed a thrilling 11-8 comeback victory in game one after trailing 7-0 in the third inning, then Parker shut down the Ravens in game two of Sunday's doubleheader, tossing all 7.0 innings and allowing just two hits, one walk and zero runs with eight strikeouts as the Dolphins earned a 3-0 win.

The 'Phins completed the series sweep of #12 FPU with two more victories over the Ravens on Monday afternoon.

During his game two start, Parker allowed a two-out double in the top of the first but struck out the next batter to end the inning. The junior lefty struck out the side in the top of the second, then recorded another 1-2-3 inning in the third. Franklin Pierce recorded their second and final hit against Parker in the fourth, another two-out double. Once again, Parker struck out the next batter to end the inning, strand the runner, and keep the shutout alive.

Parker allowed his lone walk with two outs and nobody on in the fifth, but then struck out the next batter to end the inning.

The Manlius native, who was making his first start in 29 days, recorded back-to-back 1-2-3 innings in the sixth and seventh to complete his gem and secure the win for the 'Phins.

The Le Moyne College baseball team, currently on a six-game winning streak, will begin NE10 play on Friday when they welcome Southwest Division foe Southern Connecticut State University to Syracuse for a four-game series at Dick Rockwell Field.
