Lawrence University announces Knoll's power surge earns him MWC Player of the Week honors

 APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University baseball standout Parker Knoll was named Midwest Conference Player of the Week after a big week at the plate.
    Knoll (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) hit .654 over a five-game stretch this past week. The sophomore center fielder tied a team record, belted four home runs, drove in 11 runs and scored 10 runs.
    Batting in the lead-off spot in Lawrence's order, Knoll went 17-for-26 and put together a 1.154 slugging percentage and an impressive 1.809 OPS. 
    Knoll started his week by going 4-for-4 with a double and two runs scored against conference champion Beloit College. He followed that by tying the school with five hits by going 5-for-6 with a homer, two runs batted in and a run scored against No. 23 UW-Stevens Point.
    In a three-game series at Knox College to finish the week, Knoll went 8-for-16 with three homers, nine RBIs and seven runs scored. In a 29-5 win in the series opener, Knoll went 3-for-7 with a grand slam and followed that by going 3-for-4 with a homer, two RBIs and three runs scored in the second game of the doubleheader. He finished the series by going 2-for-5 with a homer, three RBIs and two runs scored.
    This is the second Player of the Week honor for Knoll, who was chosen on May 9, 2022.
    On the season, Knoll is hitting .436 with eight doubles, one triple, nine homers, 29 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
    Lawrence wraps up the regular season this weekend when it hosts the University of Chicago in a three-game Midwest Conference series.
