Lawrence University announces Four Vikings earn All-MWC baseball honors

APPLETON, Wis. -- Four Lawrence University baseball players have been chosen for the All-Midwest Conference team in a vote of league coaches.
Quinn Berglin, Parker Knoll and Edan Perez were all first-team selections, and Jacob Charon was chosen for the second team.
Berglin (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee), a junior pitcher, was chosen for the all-conference team for the third consecutive season. He posted a 2-1 record with a 2.70 earned run average in 36.2 innings of conference play. A Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week twice during the season, Berglin struck out 37 batters and opponents hit just .183 against him. Berglin tossed a one-hitter in a 5-1 victory at Illinois College and picked up a victory over Knox College. He tossed a five-hit gem against the University of Chicago but the Vikings lost a 1-0 pitchers' duel.
On the season, Berglin went 3-1 with a 1.94 earned run average, which broke the season record of 2.29 he set in 2022. He struck out 43 in 41.2 innings against just 16 walks.
Knoll (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran), a sophomore center fielder, was chosen for the team for the second consecutive season. Knoll was third in the Midwest Conference with a .475 batting average. Batting in the lead-off spot in Lawrence's lineup, Knoll collected eight doubles, eight homers, 24 runs batted in and 40 runs scored in 23 conference games. Knoll also swiped a league-best 15 bases. Knoll collected Midwest Conference Player of the Week and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Hitter of the Week honors after hitting .654 over a five-game stretch with four home runs, 10 runs scored and 11 RBIs.
Knoll was second on the team with a career-best .427 batting average this season. He picked up 10 doubles, one triple, a team-high 10 home runs, 34 RBIs and a team-high 49 runs scored.
Perez (Manteno, Ill./Manteno), sophomore shortstop, had a banner season as he earned his first all-conference honor. Perez led the Midwest Conference with a .490 batting average and earned Midwest Conference Player of the Week honors. Perez compiled nine doubles, two triples, six homers, 33 RBIs and 26 runs scored in 23 conference games. He also was a perfect 9-for-9 on stolen bases.
On the season, Perez led the Vikings and is ranked in the top 20 in NCAA Division III with a .457 batting average, which is the sixth-best season batting average in Lawrence history. Perez finished the season with 10 doubles, four triples, nine homers, 42 RBIs and 37 runs scored in 36 games. He also finished with 11 stolen bases.
Charon (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph Catholic), a senior right fielder, was an all-conference selection for the second consecutive season. Charon ranked second in the conference with a .483 batting average and was limited to just 16 games due to injury. Charon pounded out four doubles, one triple, seven homers, 33 RBIs and scored 17 runs in those 16 contests. He also swiped nine bases.
Charon got off to a slow start to the season but was absolutely on fire over the campaign's final five weeks. He finished with a .344 batting average, five doubles, one triple, eight homers, 37 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
Charon, already the school's career home run leader entering the season, now has 31 for his career. A 2022 American Baseball Coaches Association All-American, Charon broke the school's career RBI record during the season and now has 134.
