Illinois College announces Men's Golf Places Fifth Overall In SLIAC Championship

CARLINVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys golf team traveled to compete in the SLIAC Men's Golf Championships from Sunday to Tuesday this week. IC finished fifth as a team with a score of 923. 

The team was led by Cole Bartels placing tied for seventh individually with a score of 225 after three rounds. Jarrett James and Tanner Romine were also big standouts for the Blueboys placing tied for 18th overall with a score of 231. Other significant finishers included Samuel Frericks placing tied for 25th place (237), and Tobin Nell placing 31st overall (240). 

Bartels was named First Team All-Conference for his performance and Nell was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

This wraps up the Blueboys 2023 spring season as they look ahead to returning for the Fall of 2023.
