Husson University announces Women's golf in fifth place after opening round of the 2023 NWGC Championship

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. -  Husson University women's golf opened play Saturday at the 2023 Northeast Women's Golf Conference Championship hosted at Wintonbury Hills Golf Course.

Sophomore Lindsay Cote shot a 18-over-par 88 to lead Husson;s scoring, putting her in a tie for 11th. SUNY Cortland's sophomore Claudia Winterberg leads the two-day championship at 4-over, one stroke ahead of her teammate graduate student Amanda Gaffney.

Freshman Caitlyn Chabot shot 27-over, freshman Allie Weinert is at 29-over and senior Sydney Devine is at 43-over to round out Husson's scoring.
 
As a team, Husson shot a collective 117-over to put the Eagles in fifth place after 18 holes. The Eagles are 88 shots off the lead held by the SUNY Cortland.

The final round is scheduled for tomorrow.
