Howard Payne University announces Three Lady Jackets Named Academic All-District

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The College Sports Communicators today announced the 2023 Softball Academic All-District Teams and Howard Payne University's Bree Cason, Maddison Cason, and Alexia Perkkio were recognized on this year's list.

Bree Cason
Recording eight wins in her last ten starts, Bree recorded two no-hitters during the season, one versus Ozarks and one against Arlington Baptist.

Maddison Cason
Leading the team and ASC in triples this season with six, Maddison also made nine appearances pitching for the Lady Jackets with nine strikeouts.

Alexia Perkkio
With a .316 average at the plate, Perkkio led the Lady Jackets in at bats with 133 and the ASC in sac bunts with eight.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early June.
