Hendrix Warriors announces Baseball Lands 7 on All-Conference List

Atlanta, Ga. - The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) released its All-Conference selections for the 2023 season, with 7 Warriors earning the distinction after Hendrix completed its third-best season in program history.
Andrei Stoyanow earned Second Team honors for his sensational 2023 campaign. The fifth-year flamethrower finished with a 2.25 ERA tand 1.02 WHIP hrough 44.0 innings of work, striking out 54 against just 17 walks. Hitters hit .177 versus Stoyanow and could only manage three extra base hits. He ended the year 5-1 in 8 starts, and was named SAA Pitcher of the Week after his eleven-strikeout performance versus Oglethorpe to open conference play.
David Blackburn joins Stoyanow on the Second Team after a senior season that saw him earn SAA Pitcher of the Week honors as well. Blackburn tossed two complete games, including a complete game shutout of Sewanee, in eleven starts. He finished 2023 with 44 strikouts versus just 18 walks. He allowed 40 runs in 63.0 IP but only 29 of those being earned to finish with a 4.14 ERA and 1.43 WHIP.
Adam Bland rounds out Hendrix's Second Team selection. The senior outfielder hit .327 on the year in 42 starts. He led the SAA in doubles with 18 to go along with 2 triples and 2 long balls on his way to 30 RBIs. Bland led the Warriors in runs scored (42) and in OB% (.463) and was a menace when on base, ending the year with 16 stolen bags.
John Henry Fowler became the third pitcher to earn 2023 All-SAA honors after a strong cap to his collegiate career. Fowler went 3-0 in 15 appearances, coming out of the pen to earn the save on 5 occasions. He tossed 35.1 IP with an untouchable slider that fanned 39 opponents. Fowler ended the year with a 2.04 ERA and a remarkable 0.93 WHIP.
Owen Shaw earned Honorable Mention after a midseason surge saw him break into the order for good. The sophomore hit .301 in 37 appearances with 7 doubles and a home run, knocking in 21 runs and scoring 18 runs himself.
Zach Marriott, affectionately known as Captain Canada, put his strength on display in 2023, ending the year as the co-leader in home runs with 5, including a 2 home run outing versus Rhodes. Marriott hit .306 in 40 starts, finishing third on the team in RBIs (32) and second in OPS with a .931.
David Ripple made the All-SAA team in his inaugural season after making 38 starts in 40 appearances. The freshman hit .299 in 137 ABs with 41 hits, 6 of those being extra base hits. Ripple knocked in 15 runs and scored 34, finishing the year with a .768 OPS.
