Heidelberg Student Princes announces Caplan picks up OAC Pitcher of the Week honor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Following an incredible pitching performance on Saturday, Heidelberg University baseball hurler Corbin Caplan was named the OAC Pitcher of the Week. This selection was his first time winning the award, and the first for a Heidelberg pitcher this season. 

The dominating performance came in game two against Ohio Northern, where he went nine strong innings, giving up no runs on four hits, striking out four. Heidelberg won the low-scoring contest, 1-0, on a Camden Farley walk-off home run in the bottom of the 13th. 

For the season, Caplan threw 53.2 innings while striking out 39 batters. He finished the season with a 4.53 ERA – second best among HU starters. 

The Student Princes ended the season on a high note, sweeping rival ONU to finish the year 19-21.
